You are wonderful, aren’t you?

Have you also asked yourself: Who am I anyway? How did God make me and why don’t I see myself as wonderfully made as God says I am?

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Psalm 139:14

Do you really know that? How is it that other people also see me as more or less wonderful?

The different points of view:

My perception of you depends on which side of you I get to see. Whether it is in your free time, in your family, at work or in church, you maybe show a different aspect of your personality. Besides, my own perspective of the world and of people isn’t really clear either. If you have a trait that annoys me based on past experiences, then that will influence my view of you. That same trait however can be positive to other people.

Your own view of yourself: Your view is clouded by various lies and assumptions too. Sometimes the fog is greatest when you look at yourself. There can also be a “blind spot” – you just don’t see it! But the Holy Spirit is our helper and gives us wisdom and insight. With him, we can discard the lies one by one over the years. This makes our vision a little clearer! The great advantage of getting older with the Holy Spirit is that more and more you see who you are, how you function and what you still need to get rid of.

Something I experienced recently: I used to think that I didn’t have a talent for leadership. However, friends saw this ability in me and encouraged me. I thought that a leader must plan strategically, see the big picture and be in control. I’m not that way. I have since discovered that I don’t have to be like that, but can lead the way I am. Now, I can practice and develop this gift. This part of my design can now slowly become visible – for me and for others. I am amazed, I wouldn’t have thought that this is possible.

God’s view of you: Only God has insight concerning us humans! He knows you inside and out. God knows exactly how he created you and what gifts and talents he put into you – even the ones you haven’t discovered yet. He knows your wonderful original design (after all, it is from him). Of course, he also knows everything that still conceals this design.
It’s exciting that a lot of prophetic impressions given to us by the Holy Spirit address the original design in people. They are meant to bring it to light and into our consciousness. The Holy Spirit reveals more aspects of our original design step by step as we listen and allow ourselves to be led.

I am convinced that there is a lot that is wonderful in everyone, but life, our childhood and the choices we made were not always good for us and resulted in lies and delusion in our thinking. These are the layers that cover up the true design within us so that we don’t see it. As you get rid of these lies and delusions, you will have more freedom and be more secure in life! God has given us the Holy Spirit to take us by the hand and make our original design more and more visible. Are you ready?

What’s true for you is of course true for all people. Are you ready to discover God’s original design in others? If your clouded vision prevents you from seeing properly, ask God to help you see clearly! Expect to have exciting, wonderful results. Try it out and be curious about the true design of other people!
