MAY I INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIEND?

He is a wonderful person, he is wise and kind, he encourages me and has the right solution for my problems. He is always reliable and there for me. He is also a good teacher, counselor, comforter and helper in times of trouble. He would also like to be your best friend – maybe he already is?

His name is Holy Spirit or Spirit of God. If you don’t know him yet, you should be aware that he is usually invisible and sometimes he is called wind or breath and is compared to running water or fire. The wind cannot be grasped or understood completely either, but I can feel it! I used to believe that only what I can see is real. But now I know from experience that this can’t be true. The world doesn’t only consist of what we can touch, a look into science confirms this. It goes far beyond what we can imagine!

Although I don’t see the Holy Spirit, I can talk to him and he talks to me. I can have a deep friendship with him – depending on how much I invest in my relationship with him. This is the same like with my “normal” friends.

Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 1.Cor. 3,16 (GW)

If you believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit dwells in you and communicates with your spirit. He is one with God and Jesus and therefore knows everything they know. He will reveal me portions of their wisdom on different occasions. And even these morsels sometimes exceed my way of thinking.
The connection between the Holy Spirit and my spirit works better and better the closer my relationship to him is. This is how I imagine it to be:

It feels so good that he also shows me that I am accepted and loved by God.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Romans 8:16

Here are some examples of how we can experience the Holy Spirit:
You are reading the Bible and suddenly a verse moves you and you think: “Wow, I haven’t seen that one before” and suddenly you understand a biblical truth in a completely new way. This is the Holy Spirit nudging you and bringing this truth close to you so that you can personally accept it for yourself. Then it moves from theory into your heart and is anchored there as actually true.

Sometimes he shows me in a conversation with a person what would help that person and I am free to say it. Again, very often it is the Holy Spirit who communicates this to me. Sometimes I am wise to a certain extent from my experience or from my knowledge – but when it comes from him, it is like a creative flash of inspiration, which I am sure is not from my brain!

On my personal journey with him, he has repeatedly encouraged me by interpreting old situations from childhood (which I misunderstood as a child and which were still stuck in my mind) in a new and different way. In this way he showed me that he made me just right and that I can and should be the way I am. Aha-moments!
My current self-confidence and my trust in God as my creator comes from the Holy Spirit! I also always had the impression that I had to please everybody, which put me under a lot of pressure, because it simply doesn’t work. The Holy Spirit has shown me here too that I am valuable and that I am allowed to perceive my needs and set limits! I have been practicing this ever since – and now and then he tells me again.

These “lessons” of the Holy Spirit have helped me to jump over my shadow and become visible. I am beginning to expose myself with my opinion – something I wouldn’t have dared to do a few years ago. Otherwise this blog wouldn’t exist! Since 2015 he has prepared me step by step. It became more and more definite until I understood what this could look like. He accompanies you and me on our way! It’s wonderful to have such a friend who is always for me, who is with me and doesn’t let me down! He would like to be your friend too!
