God is always for you

You may say, “No one is always for me, I’m just happy when someone is for me every now and then!”

Is there ever a person who is always for me? I’m not so sure, maybe not even the best parents or partners can manage that! But there is a God who is always for me! Mind you, for me, not necessarily for my behavior.

God is for you, even if he doesn’t think your behavior is so great. 100% for you! He loves you even if you’ve messed up or made serious mistakes. Your value as a person is certain and independent of your behavior. (Click here for a previous post on this topic)

God created us humans so that he could love us like a father. 
God is love, and you are valuable because God loves you.

God is love… 1.John 4:16

In the worst case, you are a murderer. The consequence on earth is that you will be caught and spend many years behind bars. But God is for you, even if he hates your behavior. He wants to love you into a good life, a life without violence, fear, and worry! This is possible at any time, even if you are still in prison. All you have to do is turn to him and accept his invitation.

This is an extreme example, but I wanted to show you, that no matter where you are in your life, there is a loving God who is for you.

So if God is always for you, what difference does it make?
Because I know that he is always for me, I don’t have to hide when I’ve made a mistake. I can come to him, bring him my feelings and my mess. Even then, I am welcome; he is happy that I have come to him! He shows me how I can best put my life back in order and make amends as much as possible.
He rejoices with me when I succeed. He mourns with me when I am sad. He understands when I am angry, when I am disappointed. He brings me back to a life of love with his love. He is always there for me and, of course, for you too, like a good, loving father!

He is always for you!
