A special list…

I love lists. My everyday life would be difficult without shopping lists and to-do lists! Do you also know the feeling standing in the store, searching all your bags and pockets and realizing you forgot your list?

But there are also lists that are simply exciting or even poetic. Recently I started to write a list about things I like (I can recommend that, try it!). Simply because it’s fun. I quickly came up with a list of girlfriends who all have qualities I really appreciate! Many girlfriends have several of these qualities, some have one feature in particular that makes them special and valuable. With some of these women I have a long history, with some of them I’m just beginning to get to know them better. I want to share this list with you and because it is a public post, I’m leaving out the names:

She has a big heart and is a superb listener.
She has an extraordinary sense of beauty and is incredibly creative.
She is self-confident and humble at the same time.
She asks the right questions at the right time with a caring heart.
She is developing spiritually so fast that you can almost watch her grow.
She is so comfortable with her body and moves so beautifully that it makes me feel like dancing.
She is like a mother lioness and when I need it, she fights for me.
Her honesty hits the mark, but she is always for me.
She is a praying woman and I feel that I am in good hands with her when I have a problem.
She is funny and we can laugh out loud or giggle that our bellies shake.
I always get her support when I need her the most.
She is wise and brings me further.
She has courage and that’s contagious.
She can tell such fabulous stories.
She cooks spicy gravy just right so that I don’t want to stop eating. Or pie, or…
With her I can do anything, goof around, hike, whatever.
She’s a walking encyclopedia and if she doesn’t know something, she’ll find it out.
She understands me without words, sometimes it only takes a look.
She is reliable and solid as a rock in the waves.
She is spiritually hungry and lets God change her.
Her smile is like a ray of sunshine and tells me that I am precious.

A cheer and hipphipphurrah to all girlfriends! There would be much more to tell about the great women that exist. I’m happy for each one I know and I’m looking forward to all the ones I don’t know yet!
The Bible also speaks of friends:

A friend always loves, and a brother is born to share trouble.
Proverbs 17.17 (GW)

The same verse “translated” in the female version:
A friend always loves, and a sister is born to share trouble.

I would like to be such a friend and sister, who is always there when you need her. One who encourages and supports, with whom you feel comfortable, but who can also can honestly confront about a situation and who is simply benevolent.

Hello women, you are great! Tell your friends how much you appreciate them and how grateful you are for them! Support them in their own character and their very own personality! Don’t look at their weaknesses (o yes, we all have them and that’s okay!) but look at their strengths and encourage them! Tell them that they are beautiful and wonderful!
